Moose Lake track chair guide
Just off I-35 at exit 214, Moose Lake offers a choice between a short forest loop and a longer birdwatching outing. Look for Echo Lake on the map. It is the lake beside the park's picnic area and campground.
Start small on Tall Pine Trail
The chair map marks the Tall Pine loop at 0.3 mile. That number covers the loop itself, so allow extra distance between the chair pickup and the loop. A separate marked branch of Echo Lake Trail runs along the shore toward the picnic area if your group prefers a lakeside stop.
Choose the Wildlife Pond circuit
Across County Road 137 from the ranger station, the green route circles Wildlife Pond. The map labels its west side 0.7 mile and its east side 0.3 mile, with a short connection along the south end. The adjoining Rolling Hills Trail branches east beyond the highlighted circuit. Follow the green line around the pond.
Fit the outing around the reservation
Reserve the Moose Lake chair through the official booking link and confirm where to collect it. If time is tight, ask staff about the Tall Pine loop first. If weather shortens your outing, check opening hours for the Agate and Geological Interpretive Center at the ranger station.
